The Benefits of Taking the pass plus or advanced driving lessons could help young drivers lower their car insurance premiums.

It is estimated that two young people aged 17 to 25 years-old are killed on UK roads each day but Rob Reed Advanced Motorist believe that developing advanced road skills could help to lower this number and lead to cheaper car insurance cover.

Rob Reed said: "If we had 14 young people wiped out in a mini bus each week the Government would come under attack from all directions."

The current basic driving test allows candidates to make up to 15 minor driving faults, However, the advanced test examines a driver's capacity to deal with a variety of road conditions in much greater detail as well as looking at issues surrounding night-time and motorway driving.

Successful completion of the assessment usually grants an immediate discount on car insurance policies and could help make insurance more affordable for younger drivers.

The main aim is safe driving for life not just for the driving test.

The lessons must be a minimum of 6 hours.
